We tried opening up comments, but we have reverted back to requiring some sort of ID to prevent spamming.

Good news, still no word verification!

Comments made 12 days after the post require our approval.

  1. I toyed with the idea of disallowing anonymous comments, but that would exclude some of my most enthusiastic readers.

    The spam situation does seem to be escalating.

  2. The amount of spam has indeed become much worse. We also had to enable the moderation function for posts which are older than a certain number of days in order to get the problem under control without having to use captcha. I cross my fingers that this will help to solve your spam problem.
